Your bars

Stella foosballs are the only ones to offer you, on the entire range, bars with a diameter of 15mm which ensures a better strength and longevity of your bars!

To ensure a smooth game and an optimal sliding of all the bars, it is essential to maintain them well.

How to spot a poorly oiled bar?

You can spot an oiling anomaly thanks to a friction noise between the rod and the bar.

The products and tools needed to maintain your bars

What Oil for Foosball?

The choice of oil is essential to ensure the proper maintenance of your bars.
We recommend two types of oil:
  • The best solution is to use petroleum jelly oil that you can find in the form of burette. This oil has the advantage of being fluid and being perfectly adapted for micro-mechanisms.

  • You can also use engine oil of type 5W40, the viscosity of which is very low.

DO NOT:
  • Use a sobering, type "WD40" that will dry the bar.
  • Use fat that is too viscous and will harden over time.
Bring a simple multi-purpose cloth that is not afraid of soiling.
How to grease your bars
  1. Clean the rod as well as the internal length of the bar with a cloth to remove all impurities.
  2. Then position a cloth below the bar you just cleaned. This will avoid staining the mat of your foosball.
  3. Pour or spray a few drops of oil on the stem as well as on the inner length of the bar.
  4. In order to evacuate the excess oil, go back and forth with the bar while leaving the cloth positioned under the bar.
  5. Your bar is now oiled! You can repeat the operation for all bars.
If, despite this operation, you still notice a significant friction noise, your bar may be bent. Check out our dedicated section to fix it.

Take advantage of this oiling operation to check the correct tightening of the screws, handles and feet.

Your Carpet

The foosball background is one of the essential elements of your foosball.
All our Stella foosballs are equipped with Gerflex carpets (registered trademark). This coating offers you the best gaming sensations: it gives a glide and incomparable comfort.
However, regular maintenance of your carpet is necessary.
How do I maintain my carpet?
The regular maintenance of your carpet is very simple, it consists in removing all impurities that could deflect the ball. Thus, a vacuum cleaner is perfectly suited to perform this task. We strongly advise you to adapt a brush tip to avoid scratching the carpet.
You can also use a compressed air bomb or a cloth, taking care not only to move impurities but to get rid of them.
I have a stain on my carpet
The following approach is different depending on your type of carpet:
  • My carpet is drawn (it has white lines)
Some Stella foosballs are equipped with the drawing of lines in white by screen printing. We advise you to be extremely vigilant when cleaning a task near these lines so as not to erase or alter them.
We advise you to first try to clean the stain with soapy water. If that's not enough, you can bring"White spirit". Pour only a few drops on a cloth and then gently rub the task.
Don't use White Spirit on the lines!
If the carpet is too deteriorated, you can change it: we sell them individually and pre-cut.
  • My carpet is plain
We advise you to first try to clean the stain with soapy water. If that's not enough, you can bring"White spirit". Pour only a few drops over the cloth and then gently rub the stain.
If the carpet is too deteriorated, you can change it: we sell them individually and pre-cut.
My carpet is too slippery
When you buy a new foosball, it is quite possible that the carpet is slippery. This will quickly fade over time by playing a few games. Like a good wine, foosball improves as it ages and the carpet will gain in grip.
We also advise you to always use the same ball. Indeed, as the games progress, the ball softens and will thus facilitate the controls.
My carpet is scratched or scratched
If your foosball has a drawn carpet (with white lines), the following advice is only to be applied if the stripe is not located on a line of the carpet.
Pour a few drops of thinner or White Spirit over a cloth and rub the scratch. It should then disappear or diminish.
If the carpet is too deteriorated, you can change it: we sell them individually and pre-cut.
To go further:
Take advantage of the cleaning of the carpet to check that the foosball is straight. For this, drop a ball in the middle of the field. If it does not move, your table football is straight! If this is not the case you can put wedges under the feet. We then advise you to use chair skates for more aesthetics.
