About Christopher Lecoutre
Originally from Tourcoing, Christopher Lecoutre is an artist whose renown extends far beyond French borders. Armed with his paintbrushes, he travels the world, from Vietnam to Switzerland, London to the United States, leaving his artistic footprint wherever he goes. Blending expressionism and street art, his works, populated with strange creatures and distant landscapes, serve as genuine invitations to journey.
Born in 1983 into a family steeped in cultural and artistic influence, Christopher Lecoutre has been immersed in art from a young age. "It's in my blood!" he says, recalling childhood memories of watching his godfather, Grégoire Dael, paint jewelry with gouache. This inspiring environment naturally led him to pursue training in painting techniques at the Saint-Luc Institute in Belgium.
Christopher Lecoutre collaborates with prestigious establishments such as Michelin-starred hotels and large corporations. His artworks travel across the globe: Switzerland, Bangkok, London, USA, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Belgium, United Arab Emirates, Sweden... not forgetting France, his homeland.
A significant achievement at Solid'Art Lille
During the 10th edition of Solid'Art Lille, the contemporary art fair organized by Secours populaire, held from June 14 to 16, 2024, at the City Hall, Christopher Lecoutre created an exceptional artwork. This event brought together 120 artists including painters, sculptors, photographers, and street artists, all united to raise funds in support of Secours populaire.
"During the fair, artists become ambassadors for Secours populaire in a mission focused on access to culture, exchange, and generosity," explained Florian Neveu, the fair's commissioner. The funds raised will be used to provide "holiday days" allowing as many children as possible to go on vacation this summer. "Even today, in our region, 1 out of 3 children does not go on vacation," reminded Jean-Louis Callens, the general secretary of Secours Populaire Nord. Last year, Solid'Art raised nearly €195,000, equivalent to 3,900 "holiday days" provided to children from families supported by the association.
